Tecknetics t-2 question

Hi,

I was just wondering is the tecknetics t-2 like an extension of the fisher f-75 custom or something. The detectors look like they are close to the same and was wondering if its kind of like how the troy shadows are essentially the same machine as others just have a few upgrades. I'm confused as to why a company would make two different brands of detectors like this being essentially the same detector as another with just a few upgrades?

F75 had a few changes but a little different platform Process modes and notch,,, but was brought out under Fisher name. LTD are up grades to both detectors..Bp Mode and CL mode on Tek and F75 LTD's

General Motors has their Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Pontiac, and use to have the Oldsmobile "brands" and many share similar platforms. The Same is true with he Ford Motor Company with the Ford, Lincoln and Mercury lines. There are some companies which buy-out others and then 'share' some of the technologies between different brands.

The Troy Shadow X3 and X5 are essentially the same basic platform, but they aren't the same as a "Shadow X2 with upgrades," to be sure. The concept of a black-housed model with a small control pod and no target ID and such is similar, but that's a trend to produce a lighter-weight, better-balanced detector.

Fortunately, the Teknetics T[sup][size=small]2[/size][/sup] is different from the Fisher line-up, and even the newer Teknetics models, sufficiently enough that savvy detectorists have different adjustment functions and performance (albeit somewhat similar at times) in the field. It's great that both the T[sup][size=small]2[/size][/sup] and F75 provide similar looks and feel and versatility because the end consumers need great handling characteristics, and they differ enough to appeal to many who have a different set of needs.

I read where the T2 doesn't have the notch system and a confidence graph meter like the
Fisher 70 has. I thought they were comparable but they are not and the Fisher 70 is less
expensive. Why would anybody pay more for a T2 if it has less features?
