Took a quick look at my catnip patch today to see how it was coming and found a 1980 nickel on top of the ground.
Won't bother posting a picture of a scabby looking nickel.
Those hunting plowed fields this time of year should keep a sharp eye out. Have found arrowheads while watching the coil pass over the ground.

I found this on the sidewalk down in San Diego one night. There was just enough light for the gold to glint a little. 10 Karat.
I'm always looking....

Hi Art,
I always have a sharp eye out for pieces of old broken china, Even they add flavor to the display.
My problem is allot of friends, family and co-workers are telling me I always look down while walking so I find myself telling them it's a habit of looking for things.
Hope it doesn't get worse <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Could pay to watch for those things that don't belong.
Objects that indicate that there may have been a dwelling there at one time should be a clue to cover the area more closely.
I was able to find some old township maps from 1874 that show where everything was at that time. Some places there are still houses, while other places you would never know by just looking.
