Eric what are the advantages of teflon when winding coils?

Hi Sniper,
I would guess that Teflon insulation would give you a lower self capacitance for the coil. This would enable you to damp and switch off faster, thereby giving potentially more sensitivity to small objects. You would of course need to reduce the pulse delay to take advantage of this.
