Tejon find

Went to an old school last week and found this nice 10k gold ring. Well I got really excited when I cleaned it up, thinking, now if that a real diamond I've just paid for my Tejon and 4 backup machines. Turned out to be cubics zirconia, oh well can't win them all. Well here's the story behind the find. We had been hunting an old school yard for about an hour and not finding much, so I decided to hunt in a large field behind the school. After a few minutes I knew the targets would be few and very far between. So I decided to increase my searching sweep coverage by pull the trigger on my tejon to put it into AM mode. This increased my finds drastically, because it's not necessary to have the target directly under the center of the coil to get a response. Well anyway that's how I found the ring. I truly believe If I would have stayed in disc mode I would not have found the ring or some of the other change.

Nice Tejon tip. AM significantly widens the response field, then? Cool.....

That's a nice ring Mark,

CZ is fun! Nice and sparkly!

I understand what you are saying about AM giving a wider sweep pattern...
As in pinpoint, it functions as a proximity warning.

I always hunt in Discriminate, and use a faster swing.
Yet I am cautious of the very small chirps, or blips, and even nullish clicks and pops.
Then I immediately focus within that sector of my sweep with a more reasonable sweep speed.
Even my concentric coils will trigger a target when something is not directly below the coil.

I must say my haphazard method is only good for targets down to about 6", and most nearer the surface.
Yet that is the nature of the sports fields I hunt.

AM with a judicious sweep has got to be the best for deep targets.

That's a nice ring Mark. Keep it up and there will be diamonds.

I have been hunting more and more in AM. It gives a lot of target info.
That combined with the disc for conductivity and I know a lot about
the target.

Also it covers better and goes deep.

I like it better on my V, my Euro and my SS uMax.

It's very sensitive also.

HH,
