Tejon & VCO

WV62

Well-known member
I have been using my Tejon for about a year now and now that winter is coming to an end I am getting ready for those warm days ahead. So far I have been running the Tejon with the VCO off and now I am thinking maybe trying to run it on. Anybody out there have any thoughts as to VCO off or on? I have turned it on here in the house and the preset tone is pretty close to where I run the tone adjustment, so that shouldn't be a problem.

I am pretty much just a coin and jewelry hunter, so I am running some kind of disc setting all the time.

Thanks

I run in VCO mode. Every now and then I'll go to normal mode and after a couple minutes switch back to VCO. VCO swings the tone around a lot as the coil passes over different targets. It takes some getting used to initially. I feel it gives a little more information on the target. The scream on a shallow mid-conductor is a real attention grabber. The pinpoint in VCO mode gives fairly good depth information based on target size and pitch of the response tone. Probably not for every one. Give it a try and see if you find it useful for your hunting preferences.

Sometimes i try it on and sometimes just set me a tone i like. You can just experiment and see if you like it.Not much of a difference in disc mode.Does help if you check the target in all metal for some added info. :-D
