THINKING OF GETTING A TEJON AS MY NEW RELIC MACHINE. I HAVE TRIED THE NAUTILUS AND DIDN'T REALLY CARE FOR IT ALTHOUGH IT IS PROBABLY THE DEEPEST SEEKING MACHINE ON THE MARKET AND HAS AN EXCELLENT REPUTATION AS A GREAT RELIC MACHINE. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT THE TEJON AND WAS WONDERING WHAT KIND OF DEPTH IT WILL ACTUALLY GET AND HOW IT COMPARES TO THE NAUTILUS MACHINES. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT............BILL IN N.C.

Tejon is a great relic machine. Learn it and you will like it.
Consensus is that you will want to buy a DD coil for it so it can penetrate mineralized soils.
I wish I would have tried one of those coils before selling my Tejon, there's a good
chance I would have never sold it.

I have owned both machines in the past. You would not go wrong with either. The Tejon has the depth. It is also a little lighter than the Nautilus, has a much better warranty, and is probably easier to resell if you decide to move on to another machine.
If you are hunting with a partner who is using a Nautilus, ask them to let you check the deeper targets with the Tejon for comparison.

Also, the Tejon loves small targets as well. It hamers on nickles, dimes and copper pennies! It will also do well in the button depaertment wether a military or flat button. It has taught me alot, as I sold a high end detector to get it. I just could not get the hang of the High tech stuff, so I bought the Tejon and really began to enjoy this hobby. 
I sold my DFX for the same reason. Just too many programs to play

I purchased a used MXT 300. Not a bad detector but it lacks in the depth department. I can see myself going back to the Tejon.

The Tejon, when in the development stages was tested up north in high mineralized ground and down south in good soil conditions.... it was this fair and impartial testing that helped them to create the Tejon as it is today.... The DD coil is best in high mineralized soils and the stock coil that comes with it works great in low mineralized soils.... Read the test results from both guys that helped develope the Tejon on the Tesoro website and it will help you when setting up the machine. Good Luck!!
