Can someone tell me what the $1, 2.5, 5, 10, and 20 gold coins VDI numbers are

I don't have a $5 gold piece, but I heard if you put 3 nickels stacked together...can mimic a quarter eagle. Sorry,I wish I had some gold coins laying about.

You must have some high hopes for some of your sites especially when you are asking about specific information like that,it would be no good for most of our gold coins as the gold content of our early coins can vary alot,it was not untill our gol milled coins that the gold content became stable.

Good luck and hope you do find some nice gold coins, over the last 2 years have found 5 gold coins ranging from 55BC Celtic stators upto Queen Victoria, you cannot beat the old yellow stuff

surely I can get real air test results from someone

Flat Dry

How do you usually air test coins ??

I agree digging it all is best

Not to be offensive...but who do you think has all the Gold coins you mention? Especially with Gold being astronomical to purchase. Perhaps you should visit a coin dealer and work out something to where the owner will let you bench test some Gold coins.
I don't know where Gold coins come in on the new First Texas metal detectors. Whites digital machines usually have reference points. The new '40' point Iron resolution makes it hard to compare.

Oops...meant to say HALF EAGLE

If you go to youtube to Detectorcomparisons videos he has one where he tests 4 or 5 machines on gold coins and there vdi numbers.

Do you still need this? I have a $5 coin in a case I can try to get a good read on (the foil label will cause problems, but I figure that if I get it out far enough, it will hit on the coin only).

Air test or in ground test would be usless as ground mineralization and trash in the ground up average or low average the targets and make any vdi's useless.
