I was checking out the "new" T2 classic, that is a great price on the re-release. The package deal is very tempting with the small 5" coil, and maybe the 15" coil. I have seen Beau Ouimette and Bill Ladd use them in their videos with good success for deep relics. I was going to get a Whites MXT, but was surprised at the weight of the detector (well compared to my Tesoros) when I went to look at some. There is a E series for sale for 300 dollars locally, but I was considering the Makro Racer eventually for the lower weight and performance in iron; but now wonder if this would be a well priced option with similar performance?
I would like to get something to compliment my Tesoro detectors; to be able to cherry pick somewhat when I do not have a lot of time to hunt, and something I can chase deep silver with at the old ferry landings and old parks.
I primarily hunt old homesteads, farms and stage stops. An occasional ghost town. All with lots of iron junk, square nails and some round nails. I hunt parks occasionally, but they are not my favorite. Although a deeper detector may be able to pull some old silver from these hard hit parks. How does the T2 classic do with pull tabs and bottle caps? I can not complain about my Tesoro's at all, I have gotten good at deciphering what they tell me. I would just like to add something different to the arsenal to play with. I am in no hurry, and always tend to over research and analyze everything, lol
So what does everyone think of this re-release, was there much of an upgrade from the older models, or would I be better off finding an older T2 LTE or SE, or maybe Fisher F75 and saving some money? I read some of the other posts on the machine but was hoping to hear how it does in the iron. I saw Bill Ladd's video on iron hunting, but he has a lot of experience on his side
I hate metal detector shopping, there are simply too many options out there!
Thanks!
