JUST STARTED HUNTING WITH THE T2--DISC.MODE @ SENS. AT 80 ,AND DISC. AT 41 IS THIS GOOD SETTING FOR HUNTING IN A NON-MINERAL SOIL?

THANKS:pulltab:BILL

Sens at 80 may be a little noisy. If it bothers you start dropping down a little. I hunt at sens 60 to 70 and Disc at 40 for coins.

i'm trying to learn as much as i can about the t-2. why 40 for coins? 53 or 54 would eliminate foil and still get nickles. thanks.

While looking for coins, you do not want to pass over possible jewelry.
Some smaller 14K gold engagememt rings with a possible diamond may
read in the foil range.

It seems the lower the disc you set the better depth you have. In extremely trashy areas I raise the Disc to eliminate most of the noise targets. As pointed out, it seems gold targets can gange from the 40's through 60's. The highest reading I've found on gold is a 66 which is a very heavy nugget ring. Your coin settings will be what you get comfortable with after a few trips based on the amount of iron targets and trash. I am currently searching an old airport with few iron targets with the disc on 25. In two trips I've found 10 wheaties, a 1945 mercury dime, a 1916 barber dime and a 1917 series 1 standing liberty quarter. All were 5 to 7 inches deep and the sound response was crisp and consistent. Bottom line there is no magic setting that covers every area you look. With experience you will make the adjustments you need based on the area you are searching.

i dig in a lot of fields and dont like to run below disc 40 as i dont like to hear iron, sens is usually 60,and tone 2+
