Hello Fellow Seekers!
Today was my first time out for the upcoming season and the first time I've use my Teknetics Omega 8000. Let me tell you folks ~ this is one awesome detector. It doesn't have all the bells & whistles the Minelab X-Terra 70 has, such as volume control or prospecting ability, but it has everything else. I can't believe how much this unit looks & feels like the X-Terra. It's lighter @ approximately 2 lbs & it has a similar grip & feel. I couldn't believe how well this unit hunts for it's price tag. It didn't miss a beat all afternoon. If there was anything in the ground, the Omega 8 found it! It was not only very good on quarters, dimes, and pennies but it is a 'Nickel Get-r' to be sure. I did notice that the two hold pull-tab sounds off in the nickel range, on the meter, and that's good right? If you're digging nickels, your digging gold! Believe me people, I really mulled this over before buying the Omega 8 as a back up for the X-70 and I'm glad I did my research before plunking down my hard-to-come-by cash. The grip & feel, as well as capability of the Omega 8000 says it all. I really don't think you could buy a better unit for the price. It's a keeper.
