Teknetics T2 search coil problem please help!

Hi could you help me please I have a new T2 and I used it for a few times and I noticed this problem, basically the problem is when the search coil cover gets wet I mean just a little bit and then I brush with it something like ground or grass, it makes noise I mean it only makes noise when I scratch something. It works great but has a great depth and stuff, but that problem is driving me crazy.
Could you guys help me out the search coil is brand new not broken nor damaged at all!
Thanks

Have you tried lowering the sensitivity? Sometimes dew will kind of make your detector act up. Make sure there is no dirt between your coil and coil cover that has been known to cause your detector to act up.

Search coil cover? Try w/o the cover. If'n it still is noisy when brushed by wet grass it could
be the shielding within the search coil has a problem. Another thought, is the connecting lead wire
between the control box and search coil causing the noise? Just two possible suggestions?

Hi thanks very much for your reply I am at SENS 60 and I always remove the cover after hunting, I take a wet towel and I scrape it against the coil and it makes noise, crazy stuff! I have never used any detector before so I just don't know if it's normal or not!
Thanks

Hi thanks very much you see when I grab the coil with my fingers and quickly let go it makes noise! When I touch the connector the one that you connect it to the control box it makes a bit of noise.

Hi thanks very much it is definitely the coil the the guy I bought it from told me it is not waterproof and needs to be operated in dry environment!

those coils are a sealed unit.ive dunked mine several times in salt and fresh water to rinse them off and ive never had a problem with them...you have another issue going on with the wiring and the connectors or connection..........if you bought it off of someone the warranty is not transferable.you can still send the coil in to first texas and get it checked out.........
