Temporary polemount modification

I grabbed some aluminum from Home Depot the other day and made a rough modification to see if this design would work. And it does.
The control box is mounted just a tad off-center but this does not affect its balance. In fact, if feels extremely balanced being mounted under the armrest the way it is.
Now I will commence to fashion the final version, making a more precise bend on the aluminum for a better fit. Tthe aluminum piece under the belt mount plate also needs to be extended past the control box so that I can somehow fashion a "stop," for lack of a better word, to keep the control box from slipping off the aluminum in case of a fall. As it shows in the picture, it only goes to the edge of the control box.
I sometimes think creating your own project is almost as fun as getting out there and searching for treasure.

Perhaps using a piece of rubber in the slot for the bracket may be a way to hold it.

Ray I would make it wider so the box doesn't move
and like Bill suggested use rubber on the bottom and glue it with contact cement, maybe that will work for you, I made mine thicker and slightly tapered to force fit it for tightness

Actually, it may not look like it in the picture, but the control box is mounted on fairly firm just as it is. It isn't going to move unless I pull it off or drop it or take a fall with it. I was already thinking of using rubber on the end somehow to prevent any possibility of the unit falling off. When I finish it I'll take some more pictures and post them.
