I hit a new site this morning to see what I could find. It started out slow. I was finding nothing but clad coins (14 quarters) and loads of wall brick ties. I had to empty my junk pouch twice in a nearby dumpster. They were giving me fits. My first good find was a big ole silver ring. It's not stamped, a magnet won't stick to it and it discriminates out at nickel. It's not plated, I don't know what it's made of. Second good find was a Sterling Baby Ring. It hit real good and was fairly deep. I kept finding a bunch of wheat pennies so I knew that there had be silver there as well (1953, 1944, 1945, 1950, 1944, 19??, 1945, 1940, 1955, 1930*, 1950, 1945, 1959). I found what appeared to a cutoff clothesline post sticking up about inch out of some concrete. I guessed which way the clothesline used to run and headed that way. I got good signal right off and unearthed a Washington Quarter, a Mercury Dime, a Rosie and 1956 Jefferson Nickel from a coin spill. That put a big smile on my face.
About 20 feet further down, I got another sweet soft audio tone and popped a 1915 Barber Dime and a 1876 Seated Dime that were stuck together. That put a even bigger smile on my face. Another few feet away, I got another good audio signal and popped a 1941 Mercury Dime. I'm a happy camper. I got to thinking that there has to be a War Nickel around here somewhere and guess what? My very next good target was a 1945 War Nickel. I'm on a roll! Finally on my way back to the car, I got another good signal and dug down around 7 inches a popped a 1944 Georgivs VI Half Penny. I had a pretty good day and I know there's more good stuff hiding in all that thrash. I just got to get to digging.
I just love my Tesoro detectors.
