Tesoro Cibola :tesoro::usaflag: Silver Galore / First Seated Dime:detecting:

They say 90 % of the Treasure is found by 10% of the hunters. You gotta be in the 10% somewhere.

Um, sorry, I forgot where you said that spot was??
Address please! Lol

Nice work, thanks for sharing!

Thanks. Let me work that site some more before I send you the address. I hit it again today with another detector.

Those dimes were minted 39 years apart, and judging from the wear on the barber it wasn't exactly hot from the mint when it was lost. I suspect probably sometime in the mid 1920's. Just goes to show how long seated coins circulated. And your seated dime has the wear to prove it.

Congrats on your grand slam.

Thanks. Good point on how long Seated Dimes were in circulation. The Barber and Seated dimes that I found were out of place at this WW2 era site.

There must have been something there before. I found a Spanish Reale silver coin about 250 yards from this location. You just never know what might pop up.:)

Where can I find my own genie?????????

I found mine with my metal detector. Right after I found her, just a few feet away I found a huge gold ring. :)

Tab - that is one helluva haul!! Your Cibola and TONS of patients smoked em' out of the ground!! Congratulations on all the goodies!!

Tearing it up Tab, Also love that first silver ring with the stars... Curious question, What size is it ?? :) Might be interested in taking off your hands if you are willing.

Congrats again,

Lakota

Tabman you really had a awesome dig. I have never seen a NEL Sharpshooter coil on a Tesoro. Did you have to tune the coil to your Cibola? I run a 5x10 DD wide scan coil on my Vaquero and like it better than stock coil. Most people go for the 5.75 and the 5x10 Elliptical coils do not seem as popular with the tesoro crowed.
Many manufacturers of detectors seem to be using the elliptical as stock coil and Tesoro only offers it on there gold detector . Why did you choose the Sharpshooter?
Love your modified digger.

Thanks. My Cibola has been modified with a ground balance and trigger switch, so the Sharpshooter works just fine on mine. Your Vaquero with the 5 x 10 DD should have the same performance as my Cibola and Sharpshooter coil. I have both detectors and coils and it's hard to tell any significant difference.

Awesome, awesome, awesome!
A huge congratz!

Hey Tabman!
Mudpuppy told me about you and CZ being in Memphis..... I am kinda new to the sport, but would love to
meet up with some fellow treasure seekers, as i've heard the local club has kinda disbanded.
Normally, i'm in the Destin area for 2 weeks out of the month beach and water hunting, but then
up here for 2 weeks. Ive been hunting multiple friends houses in the Midtown area and have
found some cool open lots to. Hope we can chat sometime.

Anytime. I was new to the sport once myself. I'd like to meet up with you and do a some detecting together. Maybe we can learn something from one another. I'm sure that CZ (Taylor) would be game as well. I've learned some good stuff from him. Let us know when you have a day free to get together.

Thats the way to ask to meet up. Have some good spots to go to. Everybody I know who wants to go with me just want to know my super secret spots and I have no secret spots.

Yeah, you are right Hatpin!..Thats the classy way how you do it! .plus, Zip spends time in Destin, which is not too far of a drive from Memphis, so it might work out to a fair trade for all parties is all I was thinking... Tab and CZ might want to try beach hunting someday..with Spring Break coming up in a few months and all...might be worth a run.

More then anything, I would just like to learn from you guys. The wealth of knowledge on this forum is amazing to me.
As far as places to hunt, I think everyone has to bring something to the table. Good and thorough research will
allow me to do that. No one should expect someone to tell them where a good hunting ground is, unless they
are willing to give back something in return. I totally get that.
Everyone, has been very welcoming and classy to me, the new guy. Which just amazes me for an open
forum. You guys are always welcome to come to Destin, FL. for some water hunting. Maybe a bi-yearly
get together is in order for the regulars of this site for a meet and greet. Everyone seems like they have
been good friends for years.

Zippy.

Swinging a Tesoro just makes you feel good. It's really relaxing. It just amazes me how well they work. Those folks at Tesoro sure make some good detectors:thumbup:
