Tesoro Compadre Finds Some Silver:tesoro::usaflag:

I went to a local soccer field today to find me a fine gold chain. That was my quest. I set the discrimination on the Compadre to 'iron' and kept it there the entire day. I dug all repeatable signals regardless of how faint they were. Heck I was digging stuff that so small that it was hard to find even with the ProPointer. A lot of those faint signals were deep coins. I dug a bunch of dimes and quarters that were 5 to 7 inches deep. My little Compadre has been adjusted some to be a little more sensitive and better ground balanced for the mild soil that I detect in. At any rate, I dug and dug and dug, but still no fine to gold chain for my find's pouch. Finally, I got sweet mellow beep and I dug down to around 4 inches and out pops a 1953 Silver Dime. Even though I'm detecting at a modern day soccer field, I have found Silver Dollars there. I didn't find a fine gold chain today, but the weather was nice and I had a really good time looking for one. Maybe next time.:)

Still a keeper! Good job on the find. I can't wait to find more silver with my Vaquero..the weather is starting to get worse, but I'm thankful for your other post about making power balancing easier. Can't wait to try it out where I've been findin some silver. Might ask Santa for a 12x10 SEF coil as well

Can't say enough about cranking the internal sensitivity up alittle, sure makes the Compdre hot, gives more depth for sure. I hardwired a 8" coil on my Compadre touched up the sensitivity and adjusted the ground balance and can easily see an additional 2" in depth on burried coins. Maybe when I get the extension cable installed in the Compadre so I can quickly change coils I might have to try a 12x10 on it

tabman thats a great find , the compadre is a intresting machine , I used to have one and found a 1936 quarter with it its a solid performer in medium mineralized ground and so good at getting close to metal poles and fences. I found many a BB with it as well it likes small things and i kinda liked it in shalow water beach hunting .

Tabman,

Did you adjust the Compadre yourself or did Tesoro do it?

I did it myself. :tongue:
