Tesoro Cutlass II - Help finding ground balance

Stoneface

New member
Could anyone advice me on how to ground balance the Tesoro Cutlass II?
There's a small screw on the bottom that I've forgotten how to use.

Thats a sensitivity knob, not a ground balance. The cutlass II has a factory preset ground rejection.

The reason for factory presets is ease of use. We tune them with a piece of ferrite. This represents highly mineralized ground. If your area is low mineralized, then you should be tuned nicely. Mods will violate your warranty if you are the original owner.

No one is suggesting mods for his Cutlass, I suggested he email me as he is a new member and can't be PM'd.
Just going to answer his question regarding how the Cutlass is ground balanced at the factory. It's no big secret!!
As you said in low mineralized ground, the GB should be fine. And if not, guess what, he won't be a happy Tesoro owner if he knows another brand machine
will perform better in his soil. And just maybe all it would take is a tiny tweak of the GB trimpot to bring the performance up on his soil. Then you would once again have a
happy Tesoro owner. Sure would save some shipping costs and not having a detector for several weeks for a simple 1 minute adjustment. I never suggest going inside a detector case
to make an adjustment if you do not feel comfortable around electronics or handy with tools. Too great of a chance, wire(s) get pulled or part(s) get damaged.........
Since I did not get an email from him, guess he is happy with it.....I'm sure he'll enjoy his Cutlass II.............

LOL, I am not accusing. Just giving the info to our new user.

My apology if I read things out of context.
My blind eye also didn't notice he was a new forum member with that being his first post and possibly the Cutlass his first detector.
Just know we appreciate you being on this forum and look forward to any advice that will make our treasure hunting more fun.
And it is interesting to hear about your treasure hunting!!
