Tesoro Deleon Finds Silver :tesoro::usaflag:

I went out for several hours this morning to give the Deleon a few swings. I was only about a minute into the hunt when I found the Walking Liberty in the very first hole that I dug. There for a little while, I thought that I had found a great place to find loads of silver coins. There was no more silver for me.:sad: I did manage to find 5 wheat pennies though. I was using the 8 inch doughnut coil on the Deleon, sensitivity was set at '10', and the discrimination was set at 'iron'. I got a choppy signal and the VDI was bouncing in and out of the '95' number assigned for clad, copper and silver coins. I dug down about 4 to 5 inches and out it popped. I was on a very steep slope so the coin was a little on edge. At first I thought that I had dug up a aluminum slug, because it was so bright and slick looking. After I brushed some dirt away I saw that I had found a silver coin.

The Tesoro Deleon sure is fun to use.:)

The deepest so far is a Indian Head Penny at 7 to 8 inches deep. Even at that depth I was still getting a strong signal.

Keep in mind that I detect in very mild soil.

Was your TID still accurate at that depth?

I'm not too familiar with what Indian Head Pennies are suppose to ID. I was getting a solid 68 to 70 reading.

I know air testing the Deleon, it will give solid ID numbers at good depth.
