I haven't been out for awhile, because of a bad cold I got over a week ago. I couldn't stand it anymore, I headed out this morning to a new spot to do some detecting. It's kind of a open area near a busy intersection. I started out with the Golden

Tabman. Hope you get better soon, those are some nice finds. Detecting will put NyQuil out of business if people find out how great of a cure for the cold it can be, thanks for your post. I hope to find my 1st merc this next year HH
 
Looks like 1970,s tabs and early 80,s and a nice wistle, but i say always dig those tabs. that merc is very beutifull, I got to say this , If this is how you dig on a badd day , I cant imagine when yu feel well , how much you can dig Gunno

I prefer the 8 inch doughnut coil. I'm not sure about it being any deeper than the 9 x 8 coil. I prefer it because it's lighter.

I've compared both the 8" and the 9X8 on several of my detectors. Depth is pretty much equal as near as I could determine, but the 8" had just the slightest edge. Not enough to make any practical difference in my opinion.

No manual ground ballance for the Golden U max but the Vaquero has manual ground ballance

When I get on a roll and feel good, I usually dig around 300 targets a day. My silver count went down when I got addicted to finding gold rings.

Now if I get any kind of a good beep, I'm digging.:)
