 Jim and I had some terrific weather today as well. It was kind of Spring time like weather. Lower 70's and a slight breeze. T-shirt weather.

Oh and the buttery soft ground made for some easy digging. Not too wet or too dry. It was just right:)

I should have hunted with Jim today. Man, he's a silver coin vacuum.

Gerald, really nice finds and a whole lot of digging. Jeez, if you would have hunted with me you would have missed those gold and silver rings. HH jim tn

Man...sometimes I wish I had the money to have a few detectors, cuz the golden would definitely be my park detector

What sort of site, man?

I am so missing my Golden.

Most of the clad, 2 wheat pennies and silver skull ring came from around a basketball court. It got a little crowded as the day wore on, so I moved to a old soccer field.

The Tesoro Golden

tabman, you really clean up on those rings, that golden is working for you .

Great work, Tabman! I've got a 7" concentric coil on my Golden at present. I can only endorse every good thing you say about the Golden. Keep up the good work. HH, Pete

I have an 8" donut coil inbound and an inclination to use it :)

Since it has gotten pretty ugly weather-wise, I have been doing a lot more air testing. I'd been using digital detectors for so long that I had forgotten how much discrimination can effect depth on analog machines.

And I really, really need to experiment at length with the Golden's notch width feature. I recently came to the conclusion that I needed to run with minimal discrimination and to put my faith and trust into the notch system on the Golden. That link to Mike Hillis' setup was very good - I appreciate you sharing it.

Hey Tabman,Do you think the Golden can hit a silver dime with the proper tone as deep as the Whites M6 you had awhile back in your ground? Thanks and nice finds!

I didn't keep the M6 long enough get a feel of how deep it would go. It was out of balance and didn't feel right. Other than that, I really liked it.

I'm running the Golden with no notch and no discrimination. I'm just listening to the tones. I feel it would high tone a silver dime at 7+ inches if I ever got my coil over one. :)

It's hitting clad dimes around that deep with the 8 inch doughnut coil with signal to spare.

Hey Gary, it was a super nice day yesterday. It's kinda of cold today. That buckle didn't have CSA on it, did it?:)
