that will fit my Golden uMax and Eldorado. I think that would be a good size to cover a lot of ground fast and still get good depth without being too long and heavy.

PS: You might as well go ahead and make one for my Vaquero. It would be nice to have one for it.

That's too long and it might be too heavy. I'm looking for a coil that can cover a lot of ground fast that still gets good depth and can be swung all day long without pain.

I wonder how long it will take Tesoro to make my coil?

I have used the 5x10 a fair bit, the ground coverage is nice, any longer and it might be difficult to swing close to the ground in any grass that is much taller than say 3". I have no complaints about this coil - if I did it would just be that a widescan coil does not discriminate as well as a concentric. Very sensitive to the smaller gold though.

I haven't used a tesoro dd coil yet, but as a general rule, the reason that makes me stay with the concentrics are better discrimination and better depth

I tried pinpointing fron the toe of the coil and it works, but I have better luck just Xing the target. I'm so used to the X method with other tesoro coils it's hard to get used to wiggling the toe backwards. Either way the 5x10 does not pinpoint as acurate as the concentric.

On depth, generally it is not as deep as the stock 9x8. But it has suprised me more than once, on one site that my detecting partner (with the Tejon) and myself absolutely pounded, I was able to get a weak signal and it turned out to be a thimble at 10" deep. That would be one of the deepest finds I made with the 5x10. It also goes a little deeper and sounds off stronger on tiny items like small earings and such.
