Tesoro LST, What has been your favorite coil

for this unit? I am mainly interested in ... nugget hunting... but would really like to expand it's usefulness by adding an extra coil or two. It's been my experience that some coils tend to 'Shine' better in the line-up of what's available for a particular detector. I realize that this could be just opinion related in that soil conditions will deligate to some extent the use ofthe coil/detector match for performance. But any experienced input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Don

Haven't heard of the snake. Sounds like a good candidate for a nugget shooter. Please keep me posted on how it works for you and how it stacks up to your factory unit.
Thanks

I think it is a NEL snake, and I didn't know they made them for the Tesoro's, but I will start looking.

RR where did you find a NEL snake for your LST?

My only experience with the LST was using either the Tesoro elliptical wide-scan 5" x 10" or the concentric 3-5/8" x 7-1/8" coils. I primarily used the LST when I lived out in Arizona and would "head for the hills" to prospect when I wasn't chained down at work. Ha! I found both coils to be incredibly sensitive to the smallest of targets....the wide-scan was great for covering more open ground and the smaller concentric worked nicely in the tighter, trashier spots. A lot of times while out nugget-shooting I would stumble upon small mining camps loaded with junk and that small concentric coil could pull some goodies out of all the iron. Work forced me to relocate back to Texas and I've been wanting to try the Tesoro 8" concentric on the LST for this milder ground here but have yet to do so. Best of luck to you on the prospecting...once that fever gets you for a lot of us it's for life:detecting:
