Tesoro royal sabre

I recently bought a vintage 1980's royal sabre and took it out for a test. I used the "notch" feature which gave me a high tone for silver and low tone for nickles. What a fun machine to use and operates as advertised. The tone I.D. was spot on even to the point I was detecting and one spot under a tree I got a mix of high and low tones that were repeatable with every sweep. Well, I dug and sure enough there was a small coin spill of nickles, penny s and a couple quarters. The coins were just common coins but I was happy with what the royal was telling me was in the ground. I'm happy I purchased the Royal, its fun to use,I just wish Tesoro was still in business producing their great machines......Steve

I agree, It is a great machine. I had one and now have a Golen Sabre Plus. (a similar machine) and love using it.

Love mine. It was a sore spot with me that they had the variable tone feature technology that far back and simply chose not to use it later.
