Tesoro

Wet or dry sand

salt water of freshwater

Do you one that will work in regular soil as well as dry sand?

For clean white sand not to mineralized all the Tesoro's will work good. For clean non mineralized sand and more mineralized sand a Tesoro with a ground balance adjust will work better or best. If you want a water proof detector for fresh water type beaches and lakes the Tesoro Tiger Shark VLF unit is a great one. For mineralized and whet salt water beaches the Tesoro Sand Shark PI unit is great but it does not discriminate at all and you will dig everything but hands downs will do better on salty whet beach sand than the Tesoro Tiger Shark VLF single frequency unit in the waterproof line of Tesoro beach detectors.

Just all depends on what your going to be doing with the detector. Fresh water beaches and lake side areas, salt water beaches and salt water whet sand and shore lines at the ocean, highly mineralized beach areas or more non mineralized fresh water sand areas. Also do you need a water proof unit or do you plan to go in the water a little this only leaves the Tesoro Tiger Shark or the Sand Shark as your Tesoro options.

If not going in the water to get the unit whet or if your going to hunt on whet salt water beaches without getting the unit whet a Tesoro model with an adjustable ground balance is always a better way to go. A non adjustable ground balance unit in this environment may not perform well or as well.

My Tesoro Sand Shark is a great salt water detector but you gotta dig it all.......

Happy Hunting, :detecting:
