Tesoro's best keep secret, silver umax +10x12= deep machine!

Just bought this coil recently and it is outstanding, pin point is great, depth is superior, one of the tricks I use on telling whether its a good target is going from AM back to disc and thumbing the disc to hear a difference in tone, It's my son's detector but I use it myself a lot. HHH.

I hear a lot about that combination being really deep. It makes me wonder how that combination compares in depth to a Vaquero or Cibola using standard 9 x 8 concentric coils?

Years ago, the Industry claimed 2" Depth gain with every coil that was 2" bigger than the stock coil. I don't know if that theory still holds true with todays superior technology in the detectors..

Maybe ???????????

TODAYS TECHNOLOGY seems to be based around khz and coil size. but it all boils down to the same thing as all the other guys. THERE ALL DESIGNED TODO 1 SPECIFIC THING. find metal.

I would love to try one for my Silver umax-but whatcha gonna do when you have to decide between a coil and a Compadre? The detector won out.

I say get the coil, you already have a great MD, and you can't swing both of them at the same time, the 10x12 will make a world of difference. HHH.

The 10x12 coil is great if you have areas with little or no trash. Get it in the trash and not so good. IMHO, the best coil for the Silver

Joe that's the next coil I'm purchasing for it, heard a lot of good reviews on the 5.75. HHH.

Ive been detecting with moderbn metal detectors for about 10 years and still dont know what thumbing is.Will someone explain please. Thanks

I do believe thumbing is when you dectect and while swinging, you use your thumb to turn the knob on lets say discriminination.

That's correct.

While swinging turn the discrimination until its knocks out and then bring back on the knob and then flip it to allmetal mode and then back to hear any change in tone if no change its a good target.
