Test And Conclusions On AA Lithiums

From my previous post (Lithium AA Batteries last 3 to 5 x longer ?)

What I discovered is If you decide to use AA Lithiums and I don't recommend as of yet, until I hear back from Whites , Make certain they are 1.5 VDC Max !!!
and the total battery pack output is at 12 VDC or slightly (Very Slight) above.

Now here are my results using (Energizer Ultimate L91BP-4 Lithium AA)

I took out my multimeter checked each new lithium battery .

Average voltage was 1.84 VDC Fresh.

MXT battery pack combined voltage was 14.72 VDC a full 2.72 VDC higher than the recommended alkaline.

Conclusion until I verify with Whites that I can safely use the lithium's at these higher voltages I agree with (Critterhunter) not recommended.

Or put another way use at own risk, to bad seemed like a good idea but to risky for expensive (toys) detecting equipment.

Rats I'm sure I will find another use for my newly opened packs of AA lithiums.

I would imagine that the battery companies will get on the ball and make accurate (1.5 volt) lithiums. They all seem to advertize 1.5 v but unfortunately thats a bit false.

Thanks for the update and advise against such.

I contacted Whites asking about using lithium's batteries.

I tested each battery separately then installed in the battery ,my total was 14.72 VDC

Below is a copy of the email response:

We have many customers using many high end

nice work!

Thank you (Arong81).

Maybe some time, you could explain what your name means. Just curious

I would hope this will help every one concerned with battery life versus over voltage, I lean towards the lazy side and would rather spend more now and change battery's less often and still have the confidence there going to preform to spec.

lol, just my name and first letter of my last name plus the year I was born..... Aaron G 81
