Tested out Doc's Swingy Thingy. What a relief.

Guvner and I were talking about hunting together a couple of weeks ago...and I mentioned to him I was having major elbow problems.

By the time we met to hunt Saturday...he had contacted Doc... who provided him with the Swingy Thingy for me to try out.

THANK YOU Doc. It made an incredible difference and lessened the pain while I hunted.

It was a breeze to set up and adjust...and I was amazed at how much pressure it took off of my elbow and shoulder.

I have to wear a special brace on my right elbow as you can see in the pic...but it really doesn't do much in the way of pressure relief while hunting. The Swingy Thingy took all the pressure off ...right at the point where I needed it too.

The SE seemed to float effortlessly along for me and It made my hunt much more enjoyable.

If you have shoulder/elbow pain...or are just looking for a way to "lighten' up the load of swinging the detector...I would highly recommend giving it a try.

Thanks again Doc...for making a wonderful product.

Thanks for the endorsement Bryce. My business has grown over the years because of great word of mouth advertising from satisfied customers such as yourself.

One thing I want to make you aware of is that the placement of the "D" ring, via the adjustment of the strap in the back, is critical for maximum comfort. It seems to be a personal preference as to where the "D" ring should be placed. The higher you place the "D" ring the greater the arc of the swing. Some people really like to swing wide, so they should have that "D" ring placed high. Now the down side of placing the "D" ring high, is that as you increase the arc, you get a pendulum effect, where the coil could come up and away from the ground at the end of the swing. This is easily avoided by simply applying a little down pressure at the end of your swing to stretch the bungee, and make sure the coil stays close to the ground.

Dropping the "D" ring down shortens the arc and makes it easier to keep the coil on the ground. As I said it's a personal preference. Just remember to analyze your swing and determine where the placement of the "D" ring would best suit your style. The most unique feature of the newly designed bungee is one of my inventions, the QUICK ADJUST CLAMP. This clamp, that attaches to the shaft of your detector, allows you to instantly adjust the bungee to the perfect length for proper support instantaneously.

You might notice in Bryce's photo the small 1 inch strap that comes around to the "D" ring. The only purpose of this strap is to hold the shoulder strap in place and keep it from falling off of your shoulder.

Bryce, thanks again for giving the Swingy Thingy a try, and I am very happy that it helped you detect more comfortably.

Doc

Will second that , its made a huge diffrence in the time i spend out , i swing a 3x18 clean sweep and i have swung it whith out the strap and whith the strap , When i use the swingy it is as light as a feather and i would never be whithout one love it Gunnar

Dang that is funny

Do you make sure you're color co-ordinated before going out too Erik??? I wouldn't want to hear you're out of style while detecting... I probably should have mentioned that Bryce has nerve damage in his elbow yet can still bench 320 lbs. And he only weighs 210 lbs. The weight eventually does make his elbow hurt. I guess he's just a little less worried about being beat up by passers-by then you are... :D He could just like the look though huh? Maybe we could get Doc to dye yours a certain color...

G..

Color coordinated? No, my wife seems to enjoy telling me what she thinks I should be wearing (not that I even listen)! :yikes: I wasn't refering to Bryce - great guy.......it was the funny cartoon that had me  - you gotta admit it was a gem.....I'm sure even 'ol Doc got a kick out of it

Its given me a new lease of life with my e-Trac.

Having tried all the rest Docs Swingy Thingy is the Best.:beers:Jerry.

I purchased a Swingy Thingy from Doc about five months ago. It's one of the few accessories that I have purchased that really works. I use mine on a X-Terra-70 with a 10.5 DD coil. I swung the thing 6 hrs this past Saturday with no pain. It's sure worth the money...and Doc is a supper guy. TomB

I've been using mine for over a year now. I have the 8" Sunray coil and the 12X15 SEF, and some others in between. They all swing with about the same effort and it doesn't feel awkward or funny with me having to modify my swing. Two things. Doc talks about the adjuster...It's a necessary adjustment you need to make often. It takes less than 5 seconds but when I am going up hill it's set differently than going down hill. As the day goes on and I slump more, I have to tighten it a little to get the correct lift. Secondly, Doc talks about the location of the "D"ring. He's absolutely right. I hadn't thought about it much but I like the feel of the detector better when the "D" ring is a bit higher on my chest. That'll change as you add or take off layers of clothing so you'll have to find the correct place for you and after taking your jacket off you might have to fiddle with the length. Just be aware of what you body is telling you. If it starts feeling like it takes effort to move the coil where you want, check the length of the adjustment. When that happens to me, I am using more muscle power to lift it as the bungee adjuster is adjusted too long.
I also like it when I want take a drink of water. I don't have to bend over and lay the unit down or balance it between my legs. I just let it hang from my waist. Same when I get to the car and start unlocking it and storing the gear. It just hangs out of the way until I am ready to unhook and store. I have eliminated the need to use the clasp and put it above the rear left pocket of my pants each time as I have a belt with my pouches around my waist and the clasp stays hooked to that all the time. I just put the belt on; sling the "D" ring end across my shoulder and bring the strap under my armpit and connect em. I'm good for the rest of the day. It's a good product for those of us who aren't 35 and young and crazy. Well maybe just young would cover it. Jim

I just received my Swingy Thingy but I can't figure out how to connect it to the MD. Is there a video or something? Thanks.
