Testing the LTD

So far the new LTD has not preformed any different from my older F75..I did not check out the tagets with my older F75 but checked them out with the LTD in DE mode and got the same hit and duration. It was a bit cleaner and if you go between DE and Boost with 2 tones in boost mode the tone is higher. I also got a target and pulled the coil off the ground and in DE mode it was broken and the boost mode hit hard..Air gap? Maybe better for over grown areas..

But these are places that I hit hard with the older F75 and I could really clean up with that machine. If I didn't get a good tone on the old F75 but a good VDI I would dig it and most of the time it was a good target. So the best test is a place I have not hunted a new place and then I can see how I do...is it better so far I can't really say, is it deeper so far I can't say but when I hunt with my buddies and they are having a hard time finding targets that is where I would hope to hit targets and find what they have missed..

Your partial post highlighted from your text.
"But these are places that I hit hard with the older F75 and I could really clean up with that machine. If I didn't get a good tone on the old F75 but a good VDI I would dig it and most of the time it was a good target".

Did you mean this as written ??.... Or did you mean, When I didn't get a good Id but got a good tone I dug it ???

Just curious..... I have never found a good ID with a poor tone to be a good target, or at least coin wise.
Can you define your "GOOD TARGET" category you are referring to.

I would be a broken tone but the VDI would hit 70 then 50 and bounce more times then not that would be a old coin with a crust on it from the dirt or a relic or small shell or bullet.

My F70 will do the same thing. I may get a not to good sounding hit but the numbers will be high, so I dig....have found good coins this way. Haven't tried the LTD so can't say anything on that. HH

I have also recovered several coins that didn't sound all that good, but still gave a respectable, although bouncy, vdi reading with my F 75. Most were fairly crusted wheats and IH's and a few were redish color and crusted buffalo nickels. There, however, have been enough silver that were badly slanted or on edge to now make me either dig the target or investigate it more carefully. Thanks for the info on the LTD, Lorenzo. HH jim tn

Id wasn't critical but tone was more on target for deeper coins.. I too have gotten flashing adjusting Id's but the tone was always good repeatable sound.
Thanks again..appreciate your responses.
