Went back to a spot where I found an 1894 Half Dollar a few weeks ago and just now got around to cleaning my finds. Found a 22mm TEXAS military button that I was hoping was confederate, but after deciphering the backmark, it's post-Civil War. Oh well, it's still my first Texas button. Also found: 1920D cent, the nice Slaymaker key, a Perfecto clasp, several brass buckles and clasps, an F# organ reed, a gold plated heart pendant, silver plated ring with stones missing, a thimble, a 44 Smith and Wesson cartridge, a Sterling silver piece of something, single ring pistol button, a live .25 caliber pistol cartridge, and another square aluminum coupon. The odd-shaped mirror image pieces are swans. I have no idea what it might have been. Everthing has some age to it, but the area has a layer of burnt material that is difficult to ground balance to. I know there are deeper, older relics there.
