Got my T2 back today, I sent it in due to not coming on when I turned the on/off volume control. I thought that the repair bill was high ($180.00) but wasn't thinking that the cost of parts & labor has went up since I have had to send in a unit. Anyways Felix and the technicians at First Texas done a fantastic job, they repaired my T2 quick and got it back to me fast. It was also a pleasure talking to Felix on the phone, seems like a real nice person. Still have no idea who paid for my repairs but thanks again whoever you are, it is something that I will never forget. We still have a bit of snow on the ground but tried out the detector in my driveway on a few coins, it works great. Thanks to everyone that had a hand in getting my T2 back in tip top working condition. This is what they did -

Replaced the circuit,LCD,battery sponge, springs, contacts and tested the unit, and was inspected by a specialist before being returned.

I've had several dealings with First Texas customer service/ repair starting with my old 1266 and with my t2 units. All I can say is they are top notch. They are personally concerned about your problem, they listen to you and get the job done. Good folks. They're a big company with a mom and pop way of taking care of their customers.

good to hear they got you fixed up. I just sent a T2SE in I bought used and they just got it today so will hear the verdict soon I hope I paid 475.00 for it so hope it don't cost too much to get it working correctly, as it IDs everything in Zinc at 77 to 78 even a large silver dollar so something is wrong .

I am no technician, actually I am but not a detector technician & was wondering if you tried a different coil, I know a bad coil could cause the issue that you are having. They will get ya all fixed up Barry.

Replaced the circuit (board) and LCD sounds like they basically gutted the machine and gave it new insides.

FTP is great on customer care, as most US companies are. Felix only wants to see a returned unit once. Says a lot about his departments commitment.

Glad for you, Ski.

yep tried two different coils and both did the same
