We really appreciate your service and sacrifice. I also want to thank those who are currently serving. May God bless each one of you and keep you all safe.
God bless America! We are safe because of you.:usaflag::usmc::usaa::usaf::usan::usow:

God deserves more thanks for 'keeping us safe' than me. In 1970 the world as we knew it could have come to an end in nuclear warfare. We were withing 30 seconds of launching our B-52 bombers and the missile silos were open....God kept us safe. Thank you God.

(I know all about this as I was there in the military and I was counting the minutes and the seconds, Was there to tell Headquarters Strategic Air Command to abort abort abort.)

If anyone wants to know more, guess I could tell you more. For now, be thankful to God that He is in control.

I, for one, would love to hear the whole story Pete! I will print it and share it with my students when I get back to teaching. It's one thing to read things in their history books and to hear me lecture, but kids (teenagers in my case, grades 7-12) learn and retain more when they have fun doing it, OR, hear (or hear of) first hand accounts. I have several 'first hand stories' that I have collected and share, and the kids are so quiet during those times that you can hear a pen drop! I'm sure we would all appreciate your stories... as well as what you've done for our country.

I have written this up in .doc form and will send it to anyone wanting it.

Though it was 'classified' Top Secret back then, this 'secret' needs to be told and probably has been down graded to 'ufo sighting status' (yeah sure) security level...who would believe it.

I always get kind of embarrassed when someone says "thank you for serving". I don't know why. I don't tell too many people just because I don't want them to thank me. I didn't do anything great.
