This is why this forum is such a great place! I went back to that Irish Festival park this am with renewed hope and a plan, I set up disc2, thresh -7, sens48, de mode, and dp tones...
I thought there were no fresh drops, but I was WRONG! one hour later, 10q's, 9d's, 5n's, 25p's and this 6.9gr 925 ring with rubies (garnets maybe) from thailand. It was 2" deep in the dirt.
Instead of all the chatter from the ground it was a most enjoyable and quiet hunt! I think the depth sufferred, but who cares! All signals including foil came in loud and clear, with great seperation and identity. The ring hit in the 80's, the crown caps were easy to identify, the pulltabs were consistent. I'll hit some other noisy trashy places with this program for sure!
I learned something today, thanks fellers!

Geez, Mud that is a great hunt. Nice ring and a lot of quarters/a lot of coins. Thanks to your idea I ran program 1: Sens@ 65, Thres@-3, Disc@20, 3H tones Speed@DL. Program 2: Sens@65, Thres@-5.-6,-7 and I noticed that in trashy areas the higher minus Thres numbers did separate the targets much better. It seems that the targets are much narrower? I did slow my swing speed. And does it run quiet. I didn't think the detector was working? Thanks for the info Mud. Great detecting. HH.....Z
