Thanksgiving Silver/ Persistence pays off.

Found a 1964 Kennedy Half in a very littered area with mixed and iffy signals. Two steel bottle caps, an aluminum twist off and two large nails making my detector go crazy and masking the coin. This half is at least extra fine condition and had very little circulation. Not as old as I would like but I'm not throwing it back in the hole as it is the first year The Kennedy was minted and it's 90% silver.
I'm new to this forum and hope the pics work. Found with BH Pioneer 505 4" coil no disc and sensitivity to the max at 5" down.

Big silver among the litter - very rewarding! What you said is true - Persistence, adding patience & perseverance - it pays off.

Yeah, the trash in this area is really bad but I know it has never been hit by a tector and the house dates to the 30's.
I'm hunting the clothes line and it is very tedious because there is just junk every where. They must have used the back yard as a dump ! I know there is coins here but they are masked by trash very badly.
Nails, screws, nuts, bolts, caps, beaver tails and you name it, it's here !
The good stuff is mixed in and below the trash so it's very slow going.

Congratulations. Outstanding work and find. Silver is always a very welcome addition to the finds bag.

Nothing like finding big silver. You deserve it hunting in the snow! I'm going to be heading out in about a half hour and it's cold here too, 14 degrees.

So you must be an addict to ? :)
I just shovel the snow off and bust out the hatchet and axe if the ground is really frozen.
