Thanksgiving

I have been lurking for several days since purchasing my X-Terra 705. I have been metal detecting for about ten years. I have been from Fisher 1266 and 1270 to Whites QXT Pro. Let me say that the 705 is by far one of the easiest, full featured detectors I have used. My first experience with the 705 was a couple of hours at the beach. Found some clads and junk. Four tones and TID work as advertised. Today I went detecting while Thanksgiving dinner was being prepared. The site is on private property about five minutes from my home. There are some pilings where an old wooden bridge crossed a small creek. The bridge has been gone for many years leaving nothing but the pilings. Drought in Texas has the creek dried up for several months. In the past years there has always been water standing where the bridge is at. Not anymore. First time detecting around the bridge and my first find is a 1912 Liberty nickel. I believe it to be a 1912S. I will take to an expert to verify. I don't want to try to clean myself. Second find was a 1943S Jefferson nickel within another 15 minutes. Had to leave for dinner. Can't wait to spend more time around the old bridge. Salutations and have a great Thanksgiving. Signing off from beautiful South Texas. HH
