Took the MXT out today for the first time and got a 39 merc. and three buffs, one is a 36 and the other two I can't read a date on. I have been to this house 5 times before with the Ace 250 and the Fisher F5 and ran a grid in the front yard and found one buff. Today I ran a grid on the front yard with the MXT and found three buffs and a merc. I really like this detector, it's fun and easy to learn. We are going to get along just fine. Oh and this is my first silver.

Those are awesome finds! Way to go. If you don't know by now, I love to see those nickels coming out of the ground. :wiggle: That yard looks so inviting. Do you know the year the house was built? You've got yourself one nice project yard to detect. You'll be surprised what that MXT will find. Guess it's already started to pay for itself. You did SUPER! Sometime in the 1850s, and thank you very much Nancy you are one of the people I listen too about this detector. I just kind of click with the MXT today, I know I have alot to learn about it, but it sure is a fun detector.
 
The more you use it the better you're going to like it - AND the more its tone will begin to tell you. Granted it's basically a single tone detector other than in the Relic mode, but you'll find trash has a bit different response than goodies. However, if you get a confusing signal that you're not too sure about, be sure to dig - often turns out as a nice surprise.

The MXT is one of the better detectors I've ever used. You're sure to enjoy continued success for years to come if you master the MXT ... and keep finding choice old homes with yards like the one you're hunting. I'd bet you'll get more silver out of there! :)

How about this place, the mayor gave me the go ahead to hunt it. I have been there MDing three times so far with the Ace and the F5 now comes the MXT.
