The 1350 and I Went To The Ball Field Today!

The weather today was gorgeous! I got home from work, changed, packed the 1350 in the Jeep and headed to our town ball field. I found a baby's ring, a cat pin, a hair clip and 38 clad coins.

Nice finds Oakman!! Hey man I got nickle count up to 2 now . I made a custom setting on my 1350 now they ring in.Do you find many?

I have 6 total but I don't think they are ringing in right. What is your custom setting?:garrett:

Nickels take a more practice to find than any other coin. On my 2500, I find pop tops and pull tabs give a longer, louder signals while nickels give softer, shorter signals. I can tell the difference between a pop top and a nickel about 80% of the time. I don't find enough gold to be able to tell the difference between a gold ring and a nickel or a pop top. I always so excited when I see gold I usually forget anyway. I find nickels almost as deep as any other coin but not quite. If I had to guess my deepest nickel is around 6 inches.

Th secret to finding nickels is swing slow and steady. Dig everything close to the nickel notch.

Chris

Nice day oakman keep 'em coming!! Thanks for putting up pics.

Yeah if ya got good ears there is a slight difference in sound between a pulltab and a nickel. I rarely dig pulltabs.
