Did a John Edmonton today got outta bed looked out the window & saw big black clouds wind & a little rain & thought to myself what a great day to hit some water  so packed the water gear in the car & went to a spot down the road from home.
i started hunting with a good feeling about 20 min later after 3 targets (2 bottle tops & a 5c coin) the good feeling started disappearing then got a nice signal scooped it up & there at the bottom of the scoop is gold  sifted the scoop a little more & saw big gold :crylol: outta the scoop came a big gold cross to say i was happy is a understatement. i cleaned this little area out found 1 silver earring & some coins moved along & found the silver cross then the silver & pink CZ pendent & a few more coins moved over again & out pops a gold earring :) then 6 foot away the other one pops out sweet this is my first pair of gold earrings found a few more coins come up then a small silver earring.
after that kids started showing up to go for a swim so i headed off home with all my loot.
i think the cross is 18k the marks are very worn so it"s hard to tell the gold has a 18k look to it the little earrings are not marked but look gold & have no tarnish on them & look to come from India witch is quite often are not marked 2 of the 4 silver are marked 925 also found $7.95 in 17 coins & a few junk rings & earrings.
so all up i had a great day.

Gold looks great.
Nice find !:clapping:

i lived in New Zealand up till 5 years ago now that's a place to hunt if ever you get a chance i"m kicking myself i was more interested in finding gold nugget's than gold rings i reckon i would have cleaned up over there with the ACE 250.

wow you did hit some gold! wtg lazyaussie

I believe it's a flip out magnifier lens. Garrett is great about producing these sorts of promo items. I've had Garrett letter openers, tape measures, face tissues, stick pins... I even have a mini Garrett tool kit!

Hey guys. I only went water hunting twice last year, well... it was mostly beach actualy. Were does gold/silver generaly show up on the ACE 250? If I remember correctly, my silver (old silver) coins would come in anywhere from the one cent icon to twenty five cents.

From foil all the way up depending on size and gold content. Even small pieces in the iron range. But I don't dig iron. Hunt in the relic mode a dig any and all beeps.

Thanks buddy. This past season was my first for detecting and it bit me pretty hard. I did quite well for a newby but I will admit to being lazy when it came to digging foil/iffy targets, thus I likely missed some good stuff. I usualy run jewelry or relic modes.

I'm a little lazy too. I only dig the iffy signals when I'm in the sand or bark chips. When in the dirt I'm a little more choosy on the targets I dig. But I still dig all foil. Most foil is either on top of the ground or real shallow. So my Propointer sniffs those out real easy. Most small foil is found with just my finger. The propointer is a great tool.

yep gold hits from iron to penny & silver is penny up so dig it all the only thing i don"t dig is solid iron hits.
