The area of my next hunting Grounds

mtpockets

New member
I stumbled across this place today while going through a Golf Coarse within the park I've been hunting...
There's an Ol sign out front that says the house was built in 1787..

There is a 6' gate around the perimeter of this home...

But on the other side of the street there are nice grassy area's off of the golf Coarse "public park"...

I've tried a little detecting there today but only found a few old nails..

This spot seems to be a very good place to hunt... There are wood's and trails across the street and I kinda thinking of detecting in the "Woods"
Do you think it will be a decent area?
There are many huge old trees on this site too...

Great thing about it is .....

it's all good to Detect there.... I've had several Police and park vehicles drive past me today and they all waved

But was this House there at this site since then or was it moved into the Park? If it is original, then I would dig everything that reads Conductive and see what is there. You never know what kind of finds you will uncover. Too bad you can't get close to the structure with all the tall grass, but I am sure there could be some stuff lost out in the woods also. Usually, these kinds of spots are Historical and cannot be detected so just detect in the Park/Golf Course/Woods until you can ask if it would be alright to detect around the House area on the outside of the Fence. That is if it ever gets mowed down to be able to swing a Coil thru there. Good Luck and HH.

Good Morning James,

The home sits on its original ground..
Just the area within the gates are Overgrown.... I'm going to see if I can find someone who works at the Park Maint. Facility to see if they'll let me search the fence line.....

This home sits about 100 yards or so from the Active Green...Not that frequently used Course..

If the Golf Course isn't in much use anymore, maybe you can get permission from the Parks Maintenance Guys to detect it maybe when the off season is here. They can yield Old Coins and sometimes lost Rings and other Jewelery when people reach into there pockets for a Tee. Good Luck and HH at those sites Mtpockets.
