The beach was kind to me today

First time out in 5 days. It was nice to be swinging that coil again. Hit the beach because ground still too hard to dig. We did have some rain today but not that much. Found a 925 toe ring, 1937 wheat, 1962 penny, 2 1964 nickels and a gob of quarters. Had to run AT mode again today because sand wet and signals jumpy, vid's off in disc. mode. All in all very enjoyable hunt. Thanks for looking and Happy Trails.....Z

Nice hunt. You know what they say? A silver a day keeps the Dr. away. Fortunately, if that were true I would be pretty sick. LOL Glad you were able to get out swinging again. HH jim tn

Hay Jim you should stick to an apple a day keeps the Dr. away. It is much easier and taste better.:) When I do find silver or gold it just makes a good hunt that much better.
Wayupnorth thanks for kind words. If you are coming down let me know? Always enjoy our hunts even though you always get more than me. That's ok with me.. See you soon....Z

Hi Jerry, :wiggle: :wiggle:
Nice ta cya got out again.:thumbup:
Another fine hunt buddy, silver's always nice and super quarter count too. :hot:

I like using AT mode on the wet sand, it works really well for me. :detecting:
I only use disc mode in the dry usually set at disc 4, thresh -3, sens usually 60-99 depending on conditions.

I'm off the game for a fortnight, got a small operation on my leg foreign body under skin grafts.
No problem it was pretty straight forward.

Hi Ian and Eileen. Sorry about the leg. First of all get that leg all fixed up and ready to go. I know there is a lot of stuff out on the beach ready and waiting for you and Eileen to find. I would rather run in disc. mode. But to really find anything when sand is even damp it is better to run in AT mode because VID's just don't jive. I noticed a guy with F75 making a statement about the VID's not being right under similar conditions. I also wonder if I am penetrating the damp sand to get any deeper than a few inches in disc mode? I run Disc. @20 and thresh@ -3,-4 sens@60-70 on land. Just not too much into digging those deep guys. Thanks for kind words and nice to see you up and about. Happy Trails......Jerry

Great hunt Z silver is always nice great score on the quarters I found 3 rings today all steel I hit a big dry spell on silver and gold its been 4 months keep swinging. HH

Hi Stryker glad to hear from you. The last few hunts have been good for quarters. Today was a great day for a hunt in the sun with the wind blowing off the lake. It was right nice to out there digging in the ground again. Had some rain past 2 days so went back into the parks. Ground has softened a bit. Ended up with 1 quarter and a total of 27 coins. I don't think a toe ring is really something to write home about? But again I got $90 when I sent my 925 rings in. I will put this one in the box and see how many other 925's will show up? Maybe I will be able to take the wife out for a few pizza's using the 925 ring money again? Thanks for reply and Happy Trails....Jer

That's some serious pocket change. Good job.
Oh, as far as VDI goes on First Texas units...........pay them minimal attention. The real cheese is the tones. Even Dave J. would tell you that:

"Remember..........the tones are 'master'.........and the meter is 'slave'. The meter will always parallel the tone."

Thanks for the reminder TerraDigger. Sometimes when it happens so many times it is just taken for granted. You don't dig that signal because there just is nothing that jives with the reading and the tone. Or you just get right down there and dig it because the tone is right on the spot. I hunt using the tones. When a tone is there I look at the meter. Thanks and Happy Trails.......Z
