The biggest problem with the AT Pro is....

that Garrett announced it's release too early. It's giving people too much time to speculate, wine, imagine all kinds of problems, and pick the detector apart before anyone has even touched one or seen it other then in the videos and brochure!!!! They should have waited until there was just two weeks before it's release to announce it! JMHO

I dont see that as a Garrett or AT PRO problem. I see it as a personal probem.

Unless there is a production problem and they aren't able to get the AT Pro out in a timely fashion, I don't see the announcement timing as a problem. It has created a lot of hype and interest. I do think, though, because they hadn't had anything new (detector) out for so long that they expected quite this much reaction...Then again, maybe they did. I personally have a lot of respect for the Garrett name and Co. but I don't use Garrett detectors for various reasons. The AT Pro, however, does have my attention, even if it ends up being not the next best thing since baked bread. Hang in their Garrett fans, I have a feeling you all are not going to be disappointed. Its been suggested there is ANOTHER new detector coming out right behind the AT PRO
or is that just more hype?

Some people are just never happy. Not long ago Garrett fans were complaining because no new detectors, then they complain when Garrett announces new detectors.

If anyone has been detecting for any length of time. Also been a member of various forums. Will know that this isn't the first machine that has come out like this. It's not my first rodeo. For anyone new to detecting and looking into this machine. Sit back and bide your time. You have all winter.

I hope it works like they say. EZ has the right idea between operator error and a few bugs should know something for sure by spring beach season. HH :minelab::garrett::tesoro::whites:

I agree but it just seems this one is really getting picked apart! The last time I saw one get kicked around like this was when Minelab came out with the E-Trac :)

I haven't used Garrett detectors in years because they just didn't perform up to the standards of my regular machines. But everything I have read and seen in the videos makes me think that this Garrett just maybe able to keep with with or maybe even surpass my regular detectors in some areas. Only time will tell. I am taking a chance and have one on order. I am hoping that this is a great machine and that it will get me back to using Garrett machines again as well as bringing Garrett back up to the top of the heap of hobby metal detector manufacturers.

We living in a time of instant gratification and a month of waiting just doesn't fit into that lifestyle. It's like that one commercial they run all the time where everyone is screaming " It's my money and I want it NOW!!!! It seems that is the way it is with a most things these days. We just do not want to have to wait for things! So while we wait we have time to pick it apart. I think a big part of the problem is a lot of the people that are considering the AT Pro are coming from land machines and aren't used to dealing with the trade-offs that have to be made with a land machine vs a waterproof machine. Nothing is perfect and you can't make all the people happy all the time! Still I hope Garrett's production line is up to the task of supplying all the AT Pros that will be needed to fill all the orders :)

Maybe you are right but I haven't read anywhere near the attacks on the new ACE 350 that we are seeing on the AT Pro.

The 350 was never proclaimed to be the best detector ever released. A joke? Trying to generate excitement? Serious? That kind of header ripped through the forums. Nothing to do now , but wait.

Well i use land detectors and i for one don't see what you mean by the trade offs.......... It seems to me that the AT Pro will be one of the better land detectors............. I can use it when it's raining......... Don't have to use head phones with a water detector inland that is great for me ............ And i got mine on order....... Still don't know what you mean by us inland guys and trade offs.............. I should say those water hunters aren't use used to the trade offs with a water detector vs a land detector ???????????????????????????????? All i see is water hunters crying about headphones..

The only detector company that never gets a detector out by there release date .......... Is Fisher they never meet there date of release......... and sometimes by month's....

Yeah I've gone through this a zillion times in the 16 years that I have been field testing Garrett products. It's all part of the game.
