The Christians' Goal

In 1 John 2:1 John calls us not to sin. How should we understand this admonition?

The goal of a disciple of Christ is not to sin. Christians must admit that they are sinners, yet, they must seek to live without sin.


1 John 2:1 (New International Version)

"My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense
