I finally got a chance to photo it. Just don't want any of you good folks thinking that I had snapped or something.
Here is the counterfeit Shilling that I spoke of in Jeffs great find. It can sometimes be easy to be fooled by a lot of Counterfeit coins that are out there.
Note the lack of roots and the flat base under the tree. Also this coin is too perfectly round for a 1600s Shilling.

Ya, I probably shouldn't have brought it up so quick. He had a nice find and one to be very proud of.

ouch!!! ahh its still a nice find, just not as valuable as you thought. Keep on detecting...:detecting:
 
There are all kinds of fakes out there. Actually some are worth more than the real thing.
