The Decision To Recoil Is ah NO-GO!

Today was another lesson on how to use my 'New Safari' and what a lesson it was. Mike of Michigan was right about making an investment in a back-hoe  I went slow and low and heard things I hadn't heard before and, as a result, found a number of very good finds. One of the keepers was a large men's sterling silver ring that came in @ #37 and more than ten inches deep. I know it was 10" & more because the bottom of the hole was over the top of my Lesche digger rubber grip. I also found two dimes @ over 8" deep and two pennies @ approximately the same depth. The only shallow find was a 'gas key' that said 'fuel' on one side and a raft of numbers on the other. I wonder how that guy refueled his car or truck the next time he stopped at the filling station? I'm finding that the 11" DD stock coil is excellent at target separation and runs deep! Most of the time I ran in 'Coins&Jewelry' mode and sensitivity at 'auto'. I did run in the coins only mode for a short time but, had I kept on with that mode and didn't switch to coins&jewelry, I may have missed that big ring. Another lesson learned. I'm realizing that 'Patience' is the name of the game with these new detectors, from the Minelab stable. By God's grace, it was a very good day. Thanks for reading my little ditty here and good hunting ya'll.
