A question for technicians
How may it be astromers look at a star 100.000 light-years far and ascertain that under the surface there is.i.e..copper, iron, some nickel, lead ecc..
At the some time our metal detectors cannot discriminate between aluminium and silver under the grass only !!
As per we can see this is not related to the costs or to the dimensions of the machine. May it be we have to change the standard of the waves ?
What about ultrasound or infrared ?
