The Drop Zone

Theres this place I call "The Drop Zone". Its only about 50 feet wide and 50 yards long. Its a cut across through the back edge of a park, between a school and a neighborhood. It the perfect place for an afterschool fight, a late night rondevous, etc...I've found a gold ring there and a couple of silvers including a 1960 dime last year. I hit it this am, before a big snow this afternoon. That ring is 7.8gr of 925, it is gold plated, which really fooled me.
Felt good to swing coil again, even if it was just a short spin. Good Luck, everyone!

Nice ring Mud! That owl is cool too. is it a pendent?

I tell ya, this place gets a lot of traffic, but you wouldn't know it through casual observance. The Wife is wearing that gold ring I found there last year. I talked to a guy who coaches little league who says he may have lost his wedding band at the ballfield there, he wasnt sure, but I go look for it every so often. Theres a few homeless guys that sleep in the dugouts, and the low income housing complex right on the other side of the fields...I found a lot of jewelry there last year. Evidently, this crossover has been a main travel pinchpoint for decades...I'm wondering if somebody has been robbing the apartments, running through the Drop Zone, tripping and falling at night? Its grass, but a very uneven surface, easy to trip if a fellow is going full bore in a panic in the dark..I bet sooner or later I'll find a gun here, hopefully on the ground and not poked in my face.
