Out for a quick evening hunt at a freshwater beach working the area where the sand is a thin layer on top, and becoming a dirt mix below. Had the Edge in JL mode and was getting an unstable mixed target response, so I decided to dig. Took my foot and scraped away the top layer of sand to eliminate surface foil, when I see a Mike's Lemonade BC laying flat w/ writing staring up at me.
I uttered bad words and said can't be true, 'cause I know the Edge should reject this without a problem, must be another target mixed in the hole. I picked up the BC which had hard dirt packed into it, switched to AM mode and swung over the hole, dead silence, swung over pile, dead silence. Said OK this is a new one, decided to clean the dirt out of the BC so it wouldn't get in my pouch. You guessed it, someone had tucked a square tab into the BC, turned it over and set it on the sand!
