Well the house has come along well and I now am trying to have a little fun before winter arrives. I got out or a little swinging yesterday after a few hours up checking the siding around windows s today we are expecting winds above 50mph and rain. Which I thin has just started.
I found me a "rare" 1813 one penny token from Jersey Guernsey and Alderney (islands belonging to England off the coast of France and the only part of England occupied by Nazi Germany in WW2) The link has clear images as mine is quite burned by the acid soil soil here and very black. I cnnot get my camera to capture any detail but the date and much of the text s readble ad I was able to see muc of it when I found it. It is a little bent also. One site suggests that there are only 12 of these in collections. Still the value is only in the hundres of dollars. Imagne if it was a "rare" US coin!
Not bad for only 3 hours of swinging and I only dug 4 targets, One was a scrap of copper and the others where pull tabs, not many pull tabs or modern junk on this site. Lots of square nails and big iron. Nice soil though.
Image of the same token, not mine.
