The Jesus in Whom We Believe (1 John 5:6-:geek:

After having pointed to the importance of having faith in Jesus as the Messiah and Son of God, John goes on to show his audience who this Son of God was, and one of the things he says about Jesus is that He came "by water and blood" (1 John 5:6).

What does that mean?

In 1 John, water is mentioned only in these verses for today. However, it appears quite frequently in the Gospel of John and also in Revelation. The water that John mentions in 1 John 5:6, 8 must be

It appears to me that many people fail to understand that Baptism is more than just water. The word states Baptized of water and the SPIRIT. It is meant to be a life changing experience. That means we must be doing our best to change our ways and live according to the teachings of Jesus.

Another thing I have mentioned before which I thing is important and overlooked by many. When we say the Lord's Prayer we asked to be forgiven as we forgive others. We must forgive all if we have said this prayer.

Water represents water baptism and also the Holy Spirit of God! God's Spirit like a Dove came and landed on Jesus and God said, This is My Son, in Whom I Am well pleased! Water and blood represent life in this world (for we are born by blood and water from our mother's womb) and also baptised in water and of the Holy Spirit and being forgiven and cleansed by the blood of Jesus of all repentant sins represents eternal life with Jesus forever! After He had died on the cross without a bone broken (which they did to those crucified back then) He was pierced and blood and water flowed from His side! Although He died and was buried, He lived again and arose on the third day....a number representing the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit!

We each need the Baptism of the Holy Ghost (Spirit) of God to have power for enduring and overcoming this world, for without Spiritual Baptism it is far more difficult to have godly wisdom and the power of God to have discernment and be used of God with the Spritual gifts which are many including speaking in tongues which is the least of the gifts! We may have one gift to use for Christ or several gifts to use for serving our Lord for our good and for His purpose!

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow and Whose Spiritual gifts give us power, discernment and wisdom to keep on, keepin' on with faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus! Amen! God Bless! Ma Betty
