Howdy,
I continued to work the same site today. Picture perfect weather, which is always a bonus. But it made for more folks out to work around too. Not too bad though.
More of the same. Starting to have to work a bit harder for the signals, but still a lot of ground to cover. Some spots seem more productive than others though, but we'll see. I manage a Merc then a Roosie, so spent some extra time trying to find a Barber, but just couldn't sneak up on one today. I did manage to scratch not one, but TWO silvers today. That really bummed me out. The Washington was on edge, up somewhere along the sidewall I think, and I caught it getting a larger wedge opened up. The worn out Merc was tangled in some roots, which I slipped the Lesche off trying to get an angle. Both could have been avoided I think. And they're just the lightest surface scrapes, but they really pop out. Maybe for Halloween I'll be the Silver Slasher or something...
Four Indians and nine Wheats rounded out the finds. One Wheat has a D mintmark, is early, and has the last two digits of the date strategically nicked out. Not sure I did that one though, as there wasn't any shine to the scratch. I might have though, given my handling skills for the day. Would've liked to have gotten a date off that one.
That brings the finds from this site to 59 Wheats, 12 Indians, and 14 silvers.
Thanks for looking!
