the lobo

It is a very good coinshooter, but the depth suffers using discrimination. You can hit a silver dime at 12+ inches in all metal, but only 7" in Discriminate mode above iron and below nickel. As it is built as an All Metal gold nugget shooter, it is too sensitive (loves big deep iron) for most park coinshooters (17.8kHz). In All Metal, it is a deep monster, in Discriminate it is OK. I prefer to coinshoot with the Vaquero (14kHz)

The thing about the Lobo is the auto ground doesn't work in the Disc mode. So if you use disc mode and you change your coil, then you might want us to tune it. However, if you go down to a 5.75" you may not notice too much of a difference.

:shrug:Robert,I am confused about some thing I know the Lobo will not ground in dis. But I thought when you set the gb in all metal and switch to dis it would stay at that gb.If not why dose the manual say it is so import to gb in all metal before you go to dis?

" TUNING YOUR LOBO SuperTRAQ
No matter which operating mode you are planning to use when you search with your metal detector, the detector cannot be expected to perform up to spec unless the Ground Adjust procedure is correctly performed so the unit operates as completely mineral free as possible. With manually adjusted units, this can be a procedure which may need to be done every few feet. Fortunately, the LOBO SuperTRAQ has a micro controller based Ground Tracking feature which essentially eliminates this tiresome procedure. The LOBO SuperTRAQ's procedure is very simple and takes only a few seconds to do. It should be done each time you use the detector, no matter which mode of operation you plan to use".

That is for the use of the pinpoint function. I've found pinpointing way easier by crossing over the target.

I am sorry for this. This should have been changed to reflec what the manual says. We changed the manual a year ago and should have changed the online version. This is how it should read:

perform up to specs unless the Ground Adjust procedure is correctly
