I just wonder if the next version of the Omega will be quiet like the G2/Gb and have a seperate sensitivity and seperate threshold and 2 seperate frequencies to choose from.I know I'd be the first one in line! Nothing wrong with wishing!
How many others out there would buy one?

I'd say detector "brains" are at the point you could program them from a laptop like the hi-performance car guys do with the hopped-up chips in their engines. You could create your own detection algorithms and share 'em online like a game-cheat file. First Texas seems to go for simplicity of operation and fewer sub-menu choices. They have a long list of "features" and bundle them up in different combinations. It ought to be relatively easy to pick and choose from the list and craft a new model, but each feature is more or less pre-defined and not open to "user-tweaking." I'm sure the capability to do that is there. These days it's more of a dedicated computer running a program than anything.

Just using the above quote to make a point here. No offense intended.

Like many other companies whose livelihood depends on producing products that run consecutively, I doubt that Teknetics, or any other company involved in producing a successful product, would want to give out all of their discoveries in one fell swoop.....that would be like turning down the incoming flow of sales to a dribble on that model. The stock holders wouldn't like that very much.

Take for example, the television series GOLD RUSH and several others of that ilk, all of which include by design machinery breakdowns and other freak obstacles by mother nature for the crew to overcome, in order to keep the movie series going and postpone reaching an end. If you think all of those things are just happening naturally, well, I have a bridge to sell you.
